Taking Sabbatical!

31 07 2007

I looked up the word Sabbatical and its definition pretty well describes what I am going to be doing.

A sabbatical year is a prolonged hiatus, typically one year, in the career of an individual taken in order to fulfill some goal, e.g., writing a book or traveling extensively for research.

Well, I guess it is time to finally fess up that none of this stuff out here on the internet really works. I would like to say it is just me, but unfortunately there are a large number of us out here that are now realizing that None of this is really all worth it.

I will be taking a sabbatical to work on my next book that I will be outlining all of the fallacies of the internet…until then you may want to check out my other book to catch up on what is going on.

You can check out the periodic blogs I will post over at my main site, IBGS Blog. Hope you enjoy the archive of blogs I have posted here.

Iphones Would Have Saved Studio 60

29 06 2007

mr-business-golf-in-the-library-cropped-small.jpgOk, did you get yours?  You know what I mean.  Did ya get that Iphone you have wanted to get?  Yep, $600 bucks is hard to swallow for a friggin cellphone…

But I hope your happy now.  For the rest of us with our sanity intact, we can now walk around an point at the people who have one and say, “WOW, what a wonderful person he or she must be…they have an Iphone…they are definitely cooler than me since I don’t have one.”

Give me a friggin break.  The next thing we are going to read about is how the crime rate has gone up after the sale of Iphone from all of the people who don’t have an Iphone kicking the Iphone persons ass for walking around with a laptop stuck up to their face.

Yep, I am warning you now…this is how road rage started…with all of the Hummers out there taking up the entire road and weaving through traffic like a heat seeking missile.

So, now that we have the Iphone news out of the way we can get back to discussing if all of this tagging and keyword dropping and providing content daily all to sell a friggin book is really all worth it…. I’m still here without an Iphone to call anyone to find out.

Roller Coaster Day

17 05 2007

mr-business-golf-in-the-library-cropped-small.jpg

Well today was not a real good day, but it did have its moments.

It started with me visiting with my main man, the Grill Master himself, the man with a plan in his hand, Rex Dixon. Today’s subject was a continuation of stat programs…the hit counters and what not’s .rex-dixon-9-20061thumbnail.jpg

We have been cramming and jamming on this subject for over a year and we discussed BOT’s or the search engine spiders that hit your site and sets off the hit meter to whirling.

Well on FireStats you can block them so you can get a true look at how many REAL LIVE people are actually hitting your site.

Over the last three days I found four BOTs and put them in the block…after FireStats refigured my hits, I lost 70% of my count…yes, 70% of the hits to my site, and probably your site, are from spiders and search engines…so what does that tell you about all of these reports form the mega groups on the number of hits they are getting…Give Me A Friggin Break…a 70% hit on my hits.

But things got better when a old friend I met a few years ago called me up to let me know he was let go from his carpet row VP position in Corporate America and was sick of working for the Corporate gamers and wanted to know if I was ready to go into business with him, him going into business with me. This conversation was pretty exciting since he is so strong in the sales arena and I am just as strong in the operations part of business it was a perfect match…

So we are talking, who knows what will happen that is what makes it exiting..

Then I found out that my three day golf tournament starts at 7:30AM in the morning…so it has been one roller coaster of a day. But, it is looking like it is all worth it.

SPAM In The Making

9 05 2007

mr-business-golf-in-the-library-cropped-small.jpgYou know, it is blog posts like this one produced by I AM Blog that is where SPAM starts.  Someone who is naive enough to fall into this trap and be associated in this pile of people wanting to play the number game and the number game only is setting themselves up to have their hard work of providing legitimate content to the internet all be placed in a SPAM Folder.

It is stuff like this that causes MyBlogLog to issue out message that you can only have 20 unanswered emails to their members without being locked out from making further emails to MBL members.

I think this effort on I AM Blog  is fodder for a great blog from GiveMeAFrigginBreak site orgmafb-inital-green-g-flat-black-small.jpg even better a post of this on the GiveMeAFrigginBreak.com site…yaw, that is the ticket.

DIGG: Can You Spell Lawsuit?

2 05 2007

I got an early morning wake-up message from Rex Dixonrex-dixon-9-20061thumbnail.jpg who is “Mr Insomnia” when it comes to hounding the internet on top stories.

digg.pngSeems DIGG.COM has stirred up the Hornets that have been nesting in their membership for a while.  The persistent posting of illegal images and video’s to generate traffic for DIGG and to the person who posts the illegal item will be what causes Kevin Rose and crew to have to walk away from that site.  Kevin may think he will be walking away with his truckload of money, but he should get some better legal advice since my sources are telling me that he, his posse and their joint bank accounts will be locked up for sometime.  Can you say Pizza Delivery?

This is serious, but a great opportunity for other sites that have safeguards in place to make sure the hornets don’t move over to their site.  There are plenty of sites out there to move to.  gmafb-inital-green-g-flat-black-small.jpgThe New site GiveMeAFrigginBreak.com is one of them.  Anyone who wants to get in on the ground flow of that Nuclear Inbox nuclear-bomb-photo.jpgcreations and IBGS 2007-ibgs-logo-flattened.jpgsupported venture is welcome to do so.  It is guaranteed to not be posting anything that will be illegal… not with the fleet of attorneys that are backing that site.

You may want to keep in touch with this Digg story…RD has it covered.  If there is anything on the Business Operations side that needs to be discussed, I have RD’s SIX…  Happy Viewing.  Let me know how I can help

Video-roma: What a day

30 04 2007

OK, I got a lot done today…made no money, but got a lot done.mr-business-golf-in-the-library-cropped-small.jpg

brightcove.gifSpent several hours getting my BrightCove account set up and posted a couple of my creations…still have a lot to do as far as quality of the video and sound, but that is all be set up in Bagroom 1 and 2.

golf-girl-full-length.jpgGolfGirl gave me a hallar…seems she also will be doing videos soon. And of course Rex Dixon is out pitching everyone who has a good deal to everyonerex-dixon-9-20061thumbnail.jpg who needs a good deal.

After getting through my TDL and two of the PL’ I went over to GiveMeAfrigginBreak.com WordPress gmafb-inital-green-g-flat-black-small.jpgsite and sent out a reminder that the site is still in Alpha…if there are any developers out there who want to make it happen, RD and I are looking for someone to help get it where it should be.

Worked on the BlogLog a little while….wanted to shack the Google tree on the videos coming…

Emails: got an email asking what happen to the Ask Mr Business Golf Show..ask-mr-business-golf-flatw2.jpg.well it is coming back as a video…I have been waiting to get the video editing program and get to where I could use it effectively before going in any directions…these shows will be located over at Brightcove Studio…the site that has some really good quality videos.

Well that should hold ya until I can get another report on what is not working out here in cyberspace…but it is all worth it sometimes.
