Taking Sabbatical!

31 07 2007

I looked up the word Sabbatical and its definition pretty well describes what I am going to be doing.

A sabbatical year is a prolonged hiatus, typically one year, in the career of an individual taken in order to fulfill some goal, e.g., writing a book or traveling extensively for research.

Well, I guess it is time to finally fess up that none of this stuff out here on the internet really works. I would like to say it is just me, but unfortunately there are a large number of us out here that are now realizing that None of this is really all worth it.

I will be taking a sabbatical to work on my next book that I will be outlining all of the fallacies of the internet…until then you may want to check out my other book to catch up on what is going on.

You can check out the periodic blogs I will post over at my main site, IBGS Blog. Hope you enjoy the archive of blogs I have posted here.

I Don’t Think Hank Would Do It This Away!

4 05 2007

Iwaylon-cover.jpg have this Waylon Jennings song, I Don’t Think Hank Done It This Away…stuck in my head.  I was listening to the New Lone Star 92.5FM lone_star_300×250.jpghere in Dallas and this Waylon song came on and it just keep playing in my head.

Guess is due to it being the only song I could teach my girls to play on the guitar when they were younger…they don’t remember it, but I do.

That ONE CHORD song and those lyrics, just pretty well summed up the way Country Music was back in those days.

But now that song pretty much is the one I am singing when I sit back at the end of each day and ask, Is This All Really Worth It?   An I really “…don’t think Hank did it this away!”…

There is a lot of stuff out on the internet that is for the technicians ONLY!  Like trying to work on the new cars, tinkering with a web-site is just a little out of reach to completely work on some of the web-sites creations.

OH, a person like me with limited knowledge of WTF is going on with web-sites can stumble along with a little help from my friends, but on the most part what has to be done to a web-site that will make it stand out has to be done by a tech who knows how, or using the auto analogy, has to be done by “A Dealer Mechanic”.

Going along those lines I guess I would be like a “Shade Tree Mechanic”…I am able to get to the same result, I just have to improvise and make a tool work that is not made for the part I am working on…that is what makes all of this risky…one small slip with a code here or there and hours of work is wasted…

Really, “I Just Don’t Think Hank Made It This Away”…but it is worth a try.mr-business-golf-in-the-library-cropped-small.jpg
