Taking Sabbatical!

31 07 2007

I looked up the word Sabbatical and its definition pretty well describes what I am going to be doing.

A sabbatical year is a prolonged hiatus, typically one year, in the career of an individual taken in order to fulfill some goal, e.g., writing a book or traveling extensively for research.

Well, I guess it is time to finally fess up that none of this stuff out here on the internet really works. I would like to say it is just me, but unfortunately there are a large number of us out here that are now realizing that None of this is really all worth it.

I will be taking a sabbatical to work on my next book that I will be outlining all of the fallacies of the internet…until then you may want to check out my other book to catch up on what is going on.

You can check out the periodic blogs I will post over at my main site, IBGS Blog. Hope you enjoy the archive of blogs I have posted here.

Studio 60: Maybe they need an Iphone

28 06 2007

Why is Studio 60 not getting any hype?  I would think that anything to distract from the hype around Ms Hilton and the Iphone would be welcome.  Or maybe S60 needs to hire Pair Hilton’s marketing team…come-on, can’t the media know that the only reason Ms Hilton is getting all of this attention is someone is marketing her…as homely as she is I would say it could be her parents wanting to marry her off.

But back to what is needed in the media and that is good TV programming.  S60 provides what is needed.  People want to be entertained with though provoking illustrations of life….Paris Hilton is not an illustration of anything but her life, not the life of anyone I, nor you, want to be associated with.

But again, I digress to mentioning the things that are wrong with TV instead of the stuff that is right.

Maybe S60 needs to put a Iphone in each of the casts hands and make it part of the plot oniphonejune1.png how Jack is making them all get on stage during their skits using an Iphone….if they are wanting to play the numbers then play it that way.

They just need to do something instead of nothing…which is what they are doing to hype Studio 60.  It doesn’t look like they want to save the show since there is no hype out on S60…at least out here in the Mid-West there isn’t any hype…who knows what is real in LalaWood?

Let the Frenzy Begin

28 06 2007

It is the day that all of the Iphony’s will gather to dump $600 to $700 dollars each on aiphonejune1.png Iphone.  I say that because if you think you are going to get out of the AT&T store without paying Taxes and buying all of the stuff you need to run one of those phones, then you are greatly mistaken….  That is way too much for a phone that you can buy insurance for to cover loss but not if you break it…hummmm..

Anyway, this is just another sign of how tech gadget hype has gone overboard.  I liked the comparison made in he newspaper this morning of all of the stuff Apple has launched that is sitting in a dump someplace because it was…well, crap.   Could the Iphone be the next on top of the heap?  Guess there will be a lot of people to find out because I am not falling for this hype again…I still have a Commodore 64 and an Atari Game Center, “the most sophisticated computer and gaming products that will ever be produced” I am still trying to figure them out.  Is it worth it…not really.

Iphone: Still Wondering About The Worthiness

26 06 2007

mr-business-golf-in-the-library-cropped-small.jpgSee, anything with Iphone in the title is going to get some attention.  I have never seen such a bunch of hype for a cellphone that nobody has ever used.  What is wrong with people?  Guess those people on the West Coast will buy anything to be the first….

OH, well.

I have been working on my Video Blogs for the Business Golf site of a few days.  Sorry to neglect you over here.  Still have not figured out what the heck it is going to take to make a buck out here.  John Chow and his schemes are not cutting it.  So still kicking around a bunch of stuff.  I am sure that if I take the shotgun effect I should be able to hit something with each shot.

Keep listening to the music and reading the blogs…maybe together we can figure out what the big deal is and if this all is really worth it.

Today has been one heck of a day…

9 05 2007

I spent most of the day working on and rehearsing my speech I am giving to a group of potential clients.

I took a few breaks through the day to keep my sanity that all of this is worth it.  Cleaned out more SPAM than I care to think I had.  So far, I have cleaned out over 3200 spam comments and other contacts that are from the infamous SEO’s…

rex-dixon-9-20061thumbnail.jpgI saw where my old buddy Rex Dixon was staying under the radar today…working on the day gig is wearing on him…

Took a moment and wrote a email to another close friend at the PGA to announce that my non-profit charity pro-am, Screen Door Open Charity Pro-AM. is still going on this Fall.  A little classy invitational affair of Business Networking event I cooked up 9 years ago…something I know how to do and wrote about in my book as being the best way to maximize the golfing dollar.

Then I am wrapping up the day with sitting on my go buddy Arm Chair Golfer.  I was hittingarm-chair-golfer.jpg his Blogroll…he has some very interesting characters who I know I can pick on from time to time to blog about or comment on their blogs…when I get the time.

So, there you have it…still kicking at it from both ends to make it work.  I know that one day I am going to look back on this and say this was all worth it.
